Selective exporting is a valuable feature in video editing that allows you to extract specific portions of your video project instead of exporting the entire timeline. This function comes in handy when you want to share a particular segment of your video or use it for other purposes without having to export the entire project. If you've created an extended video but only need to share a specific clip, selectively exporting that portion saves time and bandwidth for both you and the recipient. It also ensures that the intended clip is the focus of attention. Social media platforms often require shorter video lengths or specific aspect ratios. Selective exporting allows you to create content tailored to each platform without having to export your entire project.
Begin by adding a selected segment into the Timeline. To insert the selection, position the playhead at the beginning of the portion to be extracted and then click Add Selection from the Export menu.
To adjust the length of the segment, move the position markers by clicking and dragging the round parts of the markers to define the desired start and end points.
To remove a selection, right-click on the chosen area and select Delete Selection from the context menu.
Right-click on the selected area and choose Export Selection.
In the opened window, enter a title for your file and pick the location where it will be exported. Press "Start" to export the specified portion of your video project.
