Freeze frame technique
from the official website.
By capturing a single frame from a video and prolonging it for several seconds, you can create the impression of a frozen moment in time. This technique is useful when you want to highlight an important detail or give your audience a chance to reflect on what they've just witnessed.
Navigate to the specific moment in the video that you wish to pause by utilizing the position marker. For fine-tuned adjustments, apply the Previous Frame and Next Frame buttons located beneath the video player.
With the desired frame now under your cursor, access the Edit menu (or right-click) and select "Insert Freeze Frame".
The standard freeze frame duration is four seconds; however, you may modify this length by adjusting the clip's dimensions. To achieve a shorter freeze frame, simply drag the edges of the clip towards each other, or extend its length for a longer freeze frame by spreading out the edges.
